
Robert J. Bricmont, Jr. is a licensed Colorado attorney with more than 24 years of experience in Colorado family law. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law in 1988 and worked for the Denver law firm of Clanahan, Tanner, Downing & Knowlton, P.C. before opening Robert J. Bricmont, Jr., A Professional Corporation in 1994. Prior to earning his law degree he worked for several years as a litigation paralegal at Roath & Brega, P.C.
During law school Mr. Bricmont served as editor in chief of the Tort Reform Symposium Issue published by the University of Denver Law Review. He also served on the Law Review’s Board of Editors. While at the University of Denver, Mr. Bricmont achieved distinction by earning the prestigious American Jurisprudence Awards for both Torts and Trial Tactics. During his final year of law school he gained invaluable courtroom experience while practicing as a student lawyer under the supervision of the Arapahoe County Public Defender’s Office.
Mr. Bricmont is admitted to practice before all the courts in Colorado, and before the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has achieved the preeminent “AV” peer review rating from the Martindale Hubbell* Law Directory which is based on the publisher's confidential surveys of attorneys and judges practicing in the Denver metropolitan area. An AV rating is the highest rating conferred by the publisher. He has taught courses on family law, and has written for the Rocky Mountain News on divorce issues.
Mr. Bricmont serves on the faculty of the annual Child Advocacy Program of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, Metro Volunteer Lawyers, and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He serves as an attorney mentor for the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and is a member of the Legal Fees Arbitration Committee of the Colorado Bar Association. He is also certified in Collaborative Family Law. Mr. Bricmont is a member of the Rhone-Brackett American Inn of Court and is a graduate and past chairman of the 50 for Colorado leadership program sponsored by the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry.
